In case there were doubts that Boston has become a hot real estate market, Peter Vanderwarker’s (LF ’97) photos for a recent story in Architectural Record will put them to rest. “In-Demand Cities,” details the city’s ongoing building spree and the evident challenges–gentrification, the decline of affordable housing and the pricing out of middle income families–associated with being so attractive. The other profiled cities facing these pressures are Portland, Oregon, and New Orleans, for which Maurice Cox (LF ’02) puts the current situation in context.
