The Person-Power Commute

The idea that a bike and pedestrian path system can alleviate traffic congestion is taking hold in Boston. Matthew Kiefer certainly believes it; he’s part of the force behind the LivableStreets Alliance, which advocates transit that meets the needs of bicyclists and pedestrians as well as cars. The advocacy group was due to announce its proposal for the Emerald Network, a system of newly built and existing paths through the city, at the Tour de Streets annual fund-raiser Saturday.
