Newark Riverfront Summit: an Alumni Council Grant

Six Loeb fellows joined the Newark Riverfront Summit held at the conclusion of the city’s first summer (after only 346 years) enjoying a riverfront park along the Passaic. Peggy King-Jorde (LF 1996), Steve Lewis (LF 2007), India Lee (LF 2009), Charles McKinney (LF 1994), Damon Rich (LF 2007) and Glenn Smith (LF 1997) held three workshops and took a boat tour with civic groups, local residents and elected officials and followed with a public conversation at the Newark Museum.

The Loebs contributed a wealth of ideas and precedents that enabled participants to better imagine their city’s natural and social landscapes for the future and led to a concrete plan for action. Rich reports on the outcomes.
