Nests are beautiful, sturdy, cozy, highly engineered retreats, and humans are producing a surprising variety in all kinds of settings. Chee Perlman (LF 2011) commenting in the New York Times, calls human nests an antidote to the sterile glass and steel of the urban landscape and traces a direct line from birds to architects.
