"I've been selected as one of 17 Strong Cities, Strong Communities Fellows through the German Marshall Fund of the US. I’ll continue to serve as Executive Director of the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission and will provide strategic counsel and institutional knowledge to Youngstown during the 2-year SC2 fellowship, sharing my time between the two roles.
"As an SC2 Fellow I will be working with Mayor Charles Sammarone, who has assembled an aggressive agenda to improve economic development, city service delivery and regional cooperation in Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. I'll support Mayor Sammarone's vision via a new post as the city's Chief Administrative Officer.”
The SC2 Fellowship is part of HUD’s SC2 Initiative, launched to strengthen neighborhoods, cities and regions by supporting local governments to develop and execute economic vision and strategies. It is led by the German Marshall Fund, Cleveland State University and Virginia Tech with funding from the Rockefeller Foundation. Learn more about the fellowship and the inaugural group of fellows.
