Chris Calott Joins UC Berkeley

Christopher Calott (LF ’12) has recently been appointed Associate Professor of Architecture and the inaugural holder of the Robert J. and Millicent C. Lalanne Chair in Real Estate Development, Architecture and Urbanism of the College of Environmental Design, UC Berkeley. The position is a bridge between the CED and other UC Berkeley schools and colleges, in particular business, real estate, public policy, engineering and law.

Calott founded the award-winning architectural practice CALOTT + GIFFORD and the real estate partnership INFILL SOLUTIONS, which have been responsible for creating progressive mixed-use urban housing, dense infill developments, affordable housing, transit-oriented development, and vibrant public plazas in the Southwest, often in urban Native American populations and traditional Hispanic communities. Following his Loeb year he was the director of the Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development Program within Tulane School of Architecture, where he developed a curriculum in “regenerative development” for post-Katrina New Orleans other disaster sites in the US.
