After the ASLA Annual Meeting in Phoenix this month, Barbara Deutsch (LF 2006) wrote to let the LOEBlog know how truly honored she was to get an "F" from ASLA: she was inducted into the ASLA Council of Fellows.

She enjoyed meeting up with other Loebs at the GSD Reception and was wowed by Janet Echelman's sky-bound sculpture.

Deutsch was nominated to be a fellow by the Potomac Chapter in the Leadership/Management category. She has enhanced the credibility landscape architecture through easily grasped and clearly valid measurements of landscape performance. Through the online Landscape Performance Series and Case Study Investigation research collaboration, she has put the profession at the center of collaborative sustainability. With her strong business background, she has strengthened the financial position of Landscape Architecture Foundation to allow it to carry out these vital efforts.

Deutsch is in good company: a number of GSD graduates were also inducted into the Council. See the list of new fellows from the GSD.
