Armando Carbonell Elected to UK Academy of Social Sciences

Armando CarbonellArmando Carbonell (LF ’93) was one of 34 new Fellows recently elected to the National Academy of Academics, Learned Societies and Practitioners in the Social Sciences in the United Kingdom. Carbonell was cited as a leader for his international research in land use and taxation.

The Academy was established to promote social sciences in the UK for the public benefit. Among his many accomplishments, Carbonell delivered the annual Manchester University Lecture on Environment and Development, “Territory and Terroir: Inhabiting Regions,” and is policy and practice editor of the British journal Town Planning Review. He is the only American honored among the new Fellows, who otherwise hail from the UK.
