Architectural Schizophrenia at MoMA

Andres Lepik (LF 2012), director of the Munich Architecture Museum and former architecture and design curator at MoMA, examines MoMA’s uneasy navigation between its mission of preservation and the modernist imperative for renewal. The issue has currency as the museum plans to tear down the American Folk Art Museum, designed by Tod Williams and Billie Tsien (Senior Loeb Scholars) and built only in 2001.
