Academics + Practitioners = Better Cities: ACSA Workshop 3/22

Academics + Practitioners = Better Cities: ACSA Workshop 3/22

If you’re attending the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture Annual Meeting in Detroit March 23-25, make time for the preconference workshop Avenues of Exchange: Professionals, Educators and Communities Building Equitable, Healthy, and Resilient Cities on March 22. A number of Loebs had a hand in it:  Kathy Dorgan (LF ’02), Etty Padmodipoetro (LF ’06), and Anne-Marie Lubenau (LF ’12) did the planning, with Dan Pitera (LF ’05) and the Detroit Collaborative Design Center as local partner. Steven Lewis (LF ’07), Kimberly Driggins (LF ’16), Maurice Cox (LF ’05) and the Detroit Planning Office helped with local organizing and presentations.

The workshop is a follow-up to last year’s Avenues of Exchange: Tools for Shaping Stronger Conversations among Professionals, Researchers, and Communities, which included Michael Pyatok (LF ’84). The result of a partnership between the American Institute of Architects Housing and Community Development Network and ACSA, the workshops are part of an ongoing effort to promote more collaboration and dialogue between the academic community and practitioners.
